Why does people think it scares users? It does not to me tho! Making it 4 or 5 stars I guess

I used WOT for a long time, and after the scare tactic in gmail, i have removed this extension. The new banner on gmail WOT should identify themselves in the banner.

The new banner on gmail is deceptive and uses fear tactics to extract money. The banner asks you to buy a premium subscription, which purportedly protects your browser as a whole - so why does WOT only display the banner in gmail, and why doesn't WOT identify themselves in the banner? The answer is to confuse users about the origin of the banner. This is astoundingly untrustworthy behaviour from a product called "Web of Trust", which is now ironically behaving more like malware than security software. This extension should be banned from the Chrome store.

Have been using for the extension for years and it's nice to have, but like the recent comments mention, the alarming banner in gmail is too much. The thing screams "scam!"; the wording, the colors, the design, and the lack of context - I had no idea this was from the WOT extension, and even got worried it might be a virus lol. If you decide to keep this for some reason (would advice against it), at least write in that banner that it's from you guys please. Keeping the 3 stars because it has the "Don't show again" button, and I still think it's a useful extension, so I'll keep it for now.

after the scare tactic in gmail, i have removed this extension. disappointing to have the program try and scare me. unfortunately i cannot recommend as its recommendations and advice are unable to be trusted - if it tries to scare me into paying on gmail, can I trust it to tell me that a site is not a scam?

I agree with a previous post, posted a couple days ago by Steven Philip, Instant removal of extension. WOT Service response was not at all comforting, why then put that on every site? I'm removing extension, you lost my respect and no longer will use this extension

Putting a gmail banner is a breach of trust. I thought this was a trust worthy extension. I guess not. Recomendation: Do not install

After years, I decided to remove it. It turned into a complete flop product.

The banner that came up when opening Gmail, saying that I am at risk of phishing... Just ridiculous. I get it, you want to get paid with subscriptions... But this is just too much. Is this really how you want to approach customers? And some of them may be of an older age and get freaked out by the red banner. For God's sake! For the record, I am uninstalling right this instant from my PCs and my family's.
